International Quilt Festival of Ireland
As the Managing Director of the INTERNATIONAL QUILT FESTIVAL OF IRELAND, I would personally like to invite you and your friends to join us in Galway, Ireland next June for our first annual quilt festival. Because there are so many quilters in the U.K., we would like to make it convenient for you and your friends to join us. We have already organized a coach and 6-day tour to the festival from your area and I am wondering if you would be interested in helping me spread the word about the festival to the Castle Quilters?
Just to let you know, our festival with feature celebrity instructors Jinny Beyer, Kaye England, Pam Holland, Ricky Tims, Gail Lawther, Dena Crain, Paula Rafferty, Romi Buhles, Alan Tremain, Sharon Pederson, Claudia Pfeil, Nikki Foley, Pauline Openneer, Bernadette Falvey, Ineke Berlyn and Brian Taphouse.
What we have designed is completely different than anything an international quilt festival has ever offered. In Galway, we have created and actual "Quilters' Village" on the NUIG campus, where you can visit our Fat Quarter's Chocolate Shop, the Wicked Thimble Pub, our Town Hall, our Quilters' Movie House, the School House, our Craft Academy, Round Robin Restaurant and much more!
We will be presenting over a dozen quilt exhibits, which include hundreds of quilted items and a very special exhibit called Patchwork Promises, where five quilters from seven different countries around the world are participating in a round robin! Also, in an effort to recognize our traditional Irish crafts, we are also offering to our visitors workshops on felt-making, Irish lace-making, millinery workshops and even an overnight knitting workshop on the Aran Islands!
If you have never been to the West of Ireland before, there will be an opportunity to enjoy some very special day tours during the weekend of the festival. Some of these include Kylemore Abbey & Gardens, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, the National Museum of Country Life, Brigit's Garden, the Cliffs of Moher and many others.
For any of your family or friends who are not quilters, there is a programme of events they can enjoy which includes fishing, hot air balloon rides, golfing, pub crawls and much more.
Our festival website will provide all the details of what we are planning, and I invite you to take a moment and browse through everything. More information on the tours can be found here: http://www.iqfoi.com/tours/britishtours.html <http://www.iqfoi.com/tours/britishtours.html> . If you decide you might be interested in helping me inform local quilters in your area to join our tour, I would like to show my appreciation to you give you a complimentary EUR25 packet of fabric that you may collect at the festival when you arrive. We can provide you with promotional flyers, and you need only to refer quilters onto us.
If you are interested in helping us with this, please contact Nora in my office at Nora@IQFOI.com <mailto:Nora@IQFOI.com> . She will answer any questions for you and provide for you more information about how this will work. Please feel free to extend this offer to other quilters you feel may be interested in assisting us.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Cheers,
